How do I get tested?

What is the expected turnaround time for results?
Individual COVID-19 test result will be reported within 48 hours after specimen collection kit is received within the testing facility.

Will Positive COVID-19 Results be reported to local and state health departments?
MCI Diagnostic Center will report all COVID-19 results to the appropriate public health departments in accordance with applicable requirements.
What do I do if I tested Negative for COVID-19?
If you test negative for COVID-19, you probably were not infected at the time of your specimen was collected. This does not mean you will not get sick. It is possible that you were very early in your infection at the time of your specimen collection and that you could test positive later, or you could be exposed later and develop illness. A negative result does not rule out getting sick later.Please refer to Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for more information.
What do I do if I tested Positive for COVID-19?
If you test positive for COVID-19, you should take necessary and immediate steps to prevent the disease from spreading to people in your home and community.
- Stay home except to get medical care.
- Separate yourself from other people in your home.
- Call ahead before visiting your doctor.
- Wear a face-mask if you are sick.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes
- Clean your hands often.
- Avoid sharing personal household items.
- Clean all “high-touch” surfaces everyday.
- Monitor your infection.
